Our April Cover Star Cayla Van Eeden

Cayla van Eeden (15) from Kempton Park, is the reigning Miss Teen World 2018 and was crowned in Turkey in May 2018. She has been in pageants for almost 8 years and some of her recent titles include:

  • Miss Jnr Globe SA 2019
  • Senior Miss Charity South Africa 2019 (3rd year running)
  • Photomodel of the world 2018
  • Miss Teen Tourism South Africa 2018
  • Teen Queen of the World 2018
  • Teen Queen of the Universe 2018
  • Miss Teen Africa 2017

Her modeling career started by chance when she entered her first pageant at Sun City. With hardly any experience, she placed top 10. The next year she won Look 2012 and in 2013 she entered her first pageant at Pageants SA. “It did not happen overnight, it took me six years of hard work, determination and dedication to achieve my goal- being selected by Pageants SA to represent South Africa and bringing home the title of Miss Teen World 2018”. “remember the only way you can fail is to give up”.

Her greatest passion is helping and caring for others. In her spare time , Cayla quietly and selflessly works with a number of charity organisations like Frida Hartley Shelter for Woman, Mary Moodley Children’s Home, Igugulethu Child and Youth Care Centre and the Salvation Army just to name a few.

She also works with the SAPS Gauteng Junior Commissioners to raise awareness around crime prevention in schools. Cayla visits local township schools where she addresses the learners on some key topics including teenage pregnancies, drug abuse and assertiveness.

She has a huge heart and her dreams for all those in need are endless!
